STEPHAN GIETL

STEPHAN GIETL is founder and CEO of Miami and Prague based SAG Group. He previously co-founded McKafka Development Group and Paramount Development Partners. Through these joint ventures he acquired and successfully exited distressed assets in the magntitude in excess of $50MM, AND WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR VARIOUS DEVELOPMENTS IN THE MAGNITUDE OF +$1BN.

SAG Group has become via its joint ventures a major player in South East Florida, amongst others, with a 20- stories luxury boutique waterfront condominium building named “The Crimson” located in Downtown Miami. SAG Group has expanded its success on the Gulf Coast with its latest joint venture, a 286 residential unit project in Sarasota, Florida, named “50 Paramount” . This development was sold in November 2019 to an investment group out of Chicago and achieved the second highest per unit price ever in Sarasota. Investors received a return exceeding 100%.

Mr. Gietl started his development career in the late nineties working for European Property Development (EPD) a key player in the Central Eastern Europe Market (CEE). Besides other projects Gietl was instrumental in developing the largest downtown shopping center in CEE, “ The Palladium” located in the heart of Prague, Czech Republic. This mix used project totaling more than 1 million square feet won several awards and has become a major attraction for visitors from all over the world. It was sold in 2007 to a major fund from Germany for approximately $700,000,000.

Prior to this, he worked for IBM CEE, Private Equity Firms and in the FMCG industry gathering significant and broad financial expertise. Gietl is a contributing member of ULI, AIA and the Miami Chamber of Commerce. He has served in the last couple of years as a Board Member at the Harvard University Real Estate Academic Initiative and as guest lecturer in several Harvard School of Design Executive Education Programs.

Gietl was born in Vienna, Austria and received his Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Vienna Business School in 1993. He also holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from the California State University where he graduated in 1999. In 2010, Gietl graduated from the Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate at Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
